Hello,
I'm looking for movies in Persian/Farsi to aid my listening comprehension (and personal pronunciation). Does
anyone have any suggestions?
I'm not picky about genres; but ideally, it would be a dialogue-driven movie (e.g. not an action movie) that doesn't
rely too heavily on slang or unusual jargon.
Thank you!

Abbas Kiarostami is, as far as I know, one of the more well-known Iranian directors. I
love his films *Taste of Cherry as well as **Ten. You'll find that
Ten is very dialogue driven seeing as how there is only one type of shot in the
film and we listen to a few characters' thoughts/stories. A film like Taste of
Cherry will bore many viewers, but hopefully you'll get something out of it :).
Also very good is ***Baran (different director).
I don't have any real knowledge of Persian/Farsi so I'm unsure about slang and whatnot,
but they should be okay. Sorry I know this isn't much!

I've no clue about good ones for language but Persian language films I like-
The Kite Runner is a good Afghan film which IIRC is part in Farsi, part in English- could be in some weird dialect though, my Persian friends can definitely understand it though. Its about a guy who leaves Afghanistan as a kid with the Soviet invasion but then has to return there on a private undercover mission whilst the Taliban rule. Really nice drama.
Offside is a good Iranian film. About a girl who tries to sneak into a football match in Iran. Which is of course illegal. As a result most of the film takes place over the course of a football match in a holding pen for women. Sounds crap but actually rather funny.
