Hey. Could some one help me to make a list of football terms in estonian.
I have started playing in a team, where I am the only foreigner, so I need some football
terms. And I cant really look it up in a dictionary.
I am looking for such terms as:
Play the ball
I am open
Pass it
Press
Tackle
Shoot
and stuff like that.
I anyone could help it would be appreciated

I don't play football so I don't know much about the terminology.

Play the ball - ? (my guess is: mängi)
I am open - ma olen vaba
Pass it - sööda
Press - if verb then: suru, if noun then: pressing
Tackle - ?
Shoot - löö

However, you're totally in luck, because as it happens, there's a masters degree project about English-Estonian football terms available online as PDF. Dictionary part starts on the page 21.

Edit: if that link doesn't work, try here: http://dspace.utlib.ee/dspace/handle/10062/17216

ära saama.

When we havent got the ball the coach keep yelling "saame ära"
Could anyone translate this for me? In this context

The idiomatic meaning of "saame ära" is "we will be defeated". The literal meaning is something like "we will be had (by them)".

Vihelik is probably right on this one. Sports and games terms can sometimes be really
weird and make no sense without context.
