Hi I am learning Russian and I am having a bit of trouble with reading the words so I want to know if there are any of the following resources out there:
video/audio recordings preferably with transcripts possibly kids tv. I have found audio recordings but the spoken Russian is too fast I want something which I can follow.
some letters change their sound if they are followed by certain letters is there anywhere that has a list of rules about changes to the sounds of letters
is there a website where you can enter the Russian word and hear it spoken.
I have a preference for free resources.

Hi,
I'm currently working on Russian. Here are some webpages I've been using and found them useful (all free of charge):
Free online dictionary with audio pornunciation: http://www.lingvozone.com/main.jsp?language_id_from=15&langu age_id_to=23&do=dictionary&action=translation&word_id=26900
[The pronunciation doesn't work on my computer; apparently I don't have an appropriate plug-in, but I'm giving it because it may work on others' computers.
FSI website with Russian course (Lessons in pdf and audio):
http://fsi-language-courses.org/Content.php?page=Russian
Princeton Russian Audio Course:
http://lingcom.ru/article.php?l=en&id=95
A compilation of auidobooks in Russian: http://asbook.ru/
[The texts of some of them should be available online (and some also in parallel verions with English translation: http://getparalleltranslations.com/browse)].
A directory of Russian TV channels (available online): http://guzei.com/online_tv/?tv_lang=1

There are about 100 half an hour video lessons on Youtube. The first 69 are in this playlist:
Playlist 1.
The rest are here:
Playlist 2.

For short educational audio snippets with transcripts I very much enjoy the first part of each lesson on learnrussian.rt.com/lessons. It may be a little fast but I find it exceptionally clear and well-spoken.
Also I find the audios on russianlessons.net useful for beginners. They have recorded single words, then phrases, then full paragraphs, as you progress through the website.

I recently started using lingq.com for Russian, and like it so far. I use the free edition, not sure what comes with the paid version but it doesn't seem overly necessary anyway if it's used as a supplement and not a primary source of study.
