I apologize for digging up this old post, but I just saw a movie that I'm quite enthusiastic about : Largo Winch. The movie is about a hidden adoptive son of a powerful billionaire who becomes the sole owner of a financial Empire after the father's death, with many wanting to eliminate him from the picture. It's based on a famous French comic book.

The story takes place in different parts of the world ( Yugoslavia, Hong Kong, Brazil ) and quite a few languages are spoken throughout the movie, mainly English, French and Serbo-Croatian. The actors are great. The main actor, Tomer Sisley, is a polyglot in true life, as he speaks four languages fluently.

Finally and most importantly it's a great action movie, a kind that French Cinema isn’t renown for!
Here’s the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LnapafrUJk

Watch out for the release dates in your respective countries…

As far as I know they speak French throughout the movie.....and some dialogues in Spanish, because the film was shot almost entirely in Barcelona.

The narrator does the voice over in French, he speaks with the main love interest and his best friend in French, The roommates generally speak English to each other, and Spanish to the secondary characters.

The way it works out is that, the comedy is done in English, the life lessons are learned in French, and the political issues are discussed in Spanish.

Anthony Horowitz's Alex Rider series has a polyglot main character. From the Wikipedia article on the character:

Quote:
Alex is fluent in several languages. In addition his native English, he speaks fluent French, Spanish, Japanese and German. He also speaks basic Italian.

The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann. In it, the characters speak German (of course), french (lots of it), a bit of English and a bit of Italian.

A character named Esterhase in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy by John le Carre is described as speaking no language perfectly but being able to speak them all. Hungarian-born, he is a rather shifty figure in British intelligence. He has aspirations to be an English gentleman but he constantly makes minor mistakes with idioms in English, something he presumably does with every one of his languages except Hungarian.
