I was browsing through celebrities who speak foreign languages and I came upon Gene Simmons' list, it's very impressive. This list includes German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Icelandic, Japanese and Spanish. Just wanted to hear people's reactions to this, or any confirmations of the languages he speaks.

Hebrew and Hungarian don't surprise me since his mother was a Hungarian Jew and he spent time in Israel as a child after World War II.
German doesn't surprise me because of his mother's Central European connection. I didn't know about Icelandic, Japanese and Spanish. From what I've read, Simmons is a fairly bright guy so I wouldn't put it past him to know a few languages. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

I suppose your source is this page, but it looks like a joke, and when I googled for his name and a few of the languages* on the list I didn't find any hint that Mr. Simmons knows all those languages.

I imagine being a world-famous musician would be a pretty good chance to travel and try out your languages.

.. so essentially I guessed right when I doubted his skills in Icelandic and Japanese.

I cant find the page I found it on now but I didnt think he was fluent in japanese or icelandic either, still an impressive list though.
