Hi, I'm actually a speech-language pathology and audiology major in college right now, and I've had a lot of experience communicating and socializing with the Deaf and "hard of hearing," if you'll excuse the term. Speechreading is a dubious skill. Estimates always vary, but only about 25% of any message can be accurately interpreted by lipreading. This is the reason why so many people in the Deaf community prefer using ASL to auditory/oral methods for communication. However, using other supplamentary communication information, I have seen higher estimates for comprehension. I plan on going into graduate study for audiology, and one of the classes I will be taking in the spring is called Aural Rehabilitation. One of the subjects generally touched on is speechreading. If you look for books and websites about aural rehabilitation, you may find some good resources. Also, you may find good info from oral deaf education sites. I don't know if that was helpful or not, but good luck!
