I actually wonder if the amount of soda/pop/Coke whatever you would like to call it has had a negative impact on my concentration. Caffine is surely not good for one in large amounts.

Caffeine just makes me jittery about two hours later instead of helping me with concentration. I'm sure if I had to stay awake for some reason or another it would work, but otherwise no. It doesn't work for my concentration.

Unless it's nasty lake water that's been treated with who knows what and tastes horrible.

That spoils the fun indeed. Our tap water is great because it comes from right there:

http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rappbode-Talsperre

I relish the reviving freshness of these mountainous juices of virginity and utmost purity.

Okay that sounds cheesy but I'm vain so I won't delete it. Heck, it's hard to be poetic in English without producing something fruity.

To rephrase: German water is impeccable.

But peotic feelings are bound to overcome you when beholding this sweet sight at Rappbode in the Harz mountains. You should pay it a visit if you ever come to Germany. ( Or maybe you already did)

Since this is a thread about drinking it wouldn't OT to ask about where you obtain your drinking water from Sir Nigel?

Your allusion initially made me think you reside in Mexico City but then I took a closer look at your profile. Is water quality that bad in some parts of the States? Maybe you live in the arid West?

Me too. I live amongst the hills. The water here is so good they bottle it
and sell it in fancy London restaurants.

It makes the most beautiful coffee! Which is very important for productive
studying. In fact you could perhaps attribute my linguistic successes to
this very water...

I'm trying to drink about a gallon of water per day. It does help when doing FSI drills to keep the whistle wet.

I agree most wholeheartedly. I've never measured my intake, but I'm fairly sure that I get through at least 4 litres a day.

P.S. My water purity is pretty good but I've got a separate drinking water tap (complete with specialist filter) just in case...

My tap water comes from the Hetch Hetchy resevoir in the Sierra Nevadas. I think it could rival your German water, RogueRook.

I drink at least two liters of water each day, mostly tap water but some bottled water as well.

Caffeine doesn't do me much good, and I consume hardly any. I used to be a cola addict.

That's magnificent Andrea! Although I cannot drink it I can at least look at it every time I'm in front of the computer: I made it my desktop wallpaper :)

Clean water to everyone! Cheers!
