I'm trying to increase my vocabulary and I'm struggling with whether I should memorize words with kanji - since the same words in romanji can mean very different, at times, multiple meaning - with different kanji.
Need to understand recommended approach to avoid re-work if possible.

Yes, I think you should remember their Kanjis. Japanese is full of homophones!
