I've noticed that in various threads throughout the forum, many people have posted links to language-learning courses they've found on YouTube. Some of these courses seem to be really well-made, and I thought it might be useful to collect as many of these as we could in one place. I haven't used any YouTube language courses myself yet, so I can't really speak to the quality of any of them, but it does seem to me that if you just search "learn [language name]" on YT, most of the results that come up are relatively low-quality, home-made type things. It might be useful to people to see if we can locate the video-courses which stand out from the crowd, and collect them all in that spot.

So this is a call to anyone who's found particularly good language lessons on YouTube – comment with a link to the channel, and I'll add everything to a main list here in the first post. If we pay attention to quality, this could turn into a really worthwhile resource.

I'll start by collecting a few links I've seen posted other places in the forum (and therefore assume to be good).

Dutch

Rather than a specific link, I find that it useful to search for specific words. The two that I find to be the most useful for Dutch are: Rijnmond and aflevering (separately).

Rijnmond brings up recent and archived Rijnmond Nieuws and other related videos, often with embedded and downloadable closed captions (CC). After the search, do a Search Options with things like CC and/or 'today', 'this week' this month'.

Aflevering produces various series episodes, many with CC.

Other search terms that bring up good material are "vergeten verhalen" and separately 'Rotterdamer', again with CC.

Bump! Anyone else got any suggestions to add to this thread?

ETA: I know I said I'd add everything to the first post, but I forget that you can't edit after a while. So let's just add our own links and make the whole thread be the resource.

60-some lessons so far, professionally done in studio, with good audio and graphics, each lasting about 12 minutes.

Esperanto

Pasporto Al La Tuta Mondo: Campy, but it's low-budget educational TV, so what do you expect, LOL. Each part is about an hour and 45 minutes long, and there are 13 lessons in all in 4 parts.

If the above links don't work, the user who posted all this is Masoris:

Go under his playlists and select Filmegoj en Esperanto, which also has 6 other films in Esperanto.

The following video explains the Korean alphabet exploiting its 'featural alphabet' features, that is, the idea that the alphabet was designed in such a way that the shape of the letters is related to the way the sounds are pronounced in the mouth.
