I'm not sure whether this has been mentioned before, but it's something I discovered a
couple of days ago and thought I'd share my find. Many youtube videos, even full-length films, have a CC option whereby you can turn on subtitles. Many will initially be in English, but if you go to Settings you can have these changed to any number of languages. I watched Män Som Hatar Kvinnor (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) in its original Swedish language, and popped Swedish subtitles on just to help with comprehension. I have no idea which videos have the CC option, but it'll be fun discovering more. So go check it out, if you haven't already. Be warned, as with most subtitles, they aren't verbatim, but they're still very helpful. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Okay, so I've just noticed the Transcribe Audio option too, which means that youtube uses
voice recognition to create subtitles. Still in beta, though. I hasn't worked for me so far, but what a terrific feature that would be if they perfected it. 1 person has voted this message useful |
