Apparently those are Quenya and Sindarin. Also, apparently, there are others, but they're not developed enough to be called a "real" language.

I never imagined there were so many constructed languages. I had always imagined it was just esperanto and inter-lingua.

Technically anyone can make a conlang, so it's impossible to know how many they are. Of course, most of them are unusable, incomplete or just gibberish.

Many conlangs are used more in Internet contexts than in real life. And this is very dangerous, because language is about sounds. If you do not know how it sounds like, you will not learn it. This may explain why there are more conlang fans than conlang speakers.

I don't think I"m taking this quote out of context. I believe language is about communicating ideas. We have 5 senses, of which audio is only one. Sign language Bliss symbols are both easily arguably languages with no "sound" associated with them.

Similarly, people talk about the "language of mathematics", or computer languages, both of which allow people who don't necessarily speak the same natural language to communicate ideas (proofs or algorithms).

Finally, ancient languages for which no spoken record exists, only writings, can surely be counted as "languages" without the requirement that "sound" exists for them.

Here is a large list of conlangs. No links, however, but some googling can solve that.
Langmaker.com is another good resource, with information on quite a few.

While some conlangs are unusable in their current states, I've came across a fair number that are, albeit often with smallish lexicons.

Has any of you ever heard or read something about it? ^^

Greetings

I didn't know it. I have a fascination for conlangs (I even have one developed by myself). Once upon a time I tried to learn Quenya (when I was fascinated with Tolkien books), but the language is hard and it's not completely developed.

I would like to try esperanto some day.

I have an interest in artificial languages too. I can't remember exactly but there's a page called Richard Kennaway's Artificial Language Page or something similar with other links to all kinds of conlangs for those interested.
