Actually, it came from Quenya. I don't know if the Quenya root is based on a Scandinavian word but here is the Primitive Elvish definition and form of the root which is essentially identical to the Quenya
Quote:
mori "black", "dark(ness)" (MOR, Letters:382, WJ:362; the latter source discusses the possibility of a later form mora- in very early Sindarin); Mori-kwendî "Moriquendi, Dark-folk" = Avari, as opposed to Kala-kwendî (WJ:373)

BTW, in case anyone is wondering why the dwarves called their home "Moria", they didn't. It was called so by the Elves after the dawrves unleashed a great evil within and left the whole city.

Neos, I'm quite sceptical of some of the etymologies you have given. Are you sure that 'mors' really comes from the Greek 'moros' (some online-dictionaries I consulted didn't say so... See for example http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/mors )

Latin and Greek are closely related Indo-European languages and there are many similar words that are no borrowings but derive from the same IE root. For such a basic word as 'death' that is what one would expect...
