My girlfriend and I are considering studying Swedish. I'll be creating an Anki deck for myself as we go along, but I'd hope that she'd be able to use it as well.

If I create a deck and share it with her, will hers update if I update mine? That is to say, if I add 10 words, will they pop on her shared version of the deck? Or must all updates be manual?

Tak.

Anki does allow more users on the same computer and it keeps things separate very easily. But how much you can share and update more words, that I dare not guess. If I were you, I would ask on the support forum. Not only experienced users but creators themselves answer questions there.

You could always create a pseudo deck with 10 words, share it and have her download it. Then input another 10 words, have her sync and see what happens.

But there should be an easier option, especially as many srs products today try to provide tools for teachers as well. And a way to update the decks this way looks like the first thing any teacher using an srs might want. So, I think it might still be worth asking on the help forums.
