DVD's from Amazon don't come with Italian subtitles? Maybe from Amazon UK or FR?

There is another recent topic about this.
Amazon.it is good, deastore has free delivery (I use it for French books mostly but they are an Italian eshop and have got Italian dvds). Other than that, google (or duckduckgo) is your friend.
However, I wonder why there aren't more Italian shops and sources in the US despite the huge amounts of people of Italian heritage? just a thought.

If you ever play DVDs through your computer, you can search for subtitles on a site like opensubtitles.org, and use VLC media player to add the .srt or .sub file to the film.

I've found that a pleasantly surprising number of Italian movies have Italian subtitles. More so than for French, for example. It might be worth checking OpenSubtitles etc. to see if they are available and of decent quality before you buy. Unfortunately though, the subtitles are sometimes out of time with the movie. They might start too early or too late, which can be remedied with VLC's subtitle delay option, or sometimes the timing is actually wrong so they "drift", which can often be fixed by using a program like Subtitle Workshop.

I hope it does not violate forum rules to link to something with profanity. However, I
happened to come across this stand-up routine from an American comic that has Italian
subtitles. I don't know Italian, but if a native could take a quick look, something like
this could be very helpful!

edit: This is an English speaker with subs in Italian. Not what the opening post is
looking for, but still hopefully helpful for someone.
