Anyone studying it? Have any basic insights into the language? Not too many materials out there, for such a fascinating country.

Burmese is on my long list of languages to study. This is the only good online resource I know of.

The script is pretty cool and it is a tonal language (I believe there are 4 tones). If I remember correctly, it also has a rather large distinction between formal and informal language.
