The best Assimil for Spanish | ||

Original Post: So the more I browse this forum, the more I see people raving about Assimil and I have decided to give it a try. Considering the price and the fact that I am a bit reluctant to try that method, I do not want to buy it but will rather borrow it at the library. So I have the choice between: - Perfectionnement espagnol - L'espagnol de Cuba de poche - Kit de conversation espagnol du Mexique de poche - Kit de conversation espagnol de poche - L'espagnol - L'espagnol de poche - Using Spanish and a bunch of others that I have eliminated because they are either book only or ininteresting to me (busisness Spanish, Spanish by singing and such). I can't just go and have a look at them to see which I prefer as most are borrowed already and need to be booked in advance. Which one would you recommend for someone who is beginning and have no preference concerning the regional accents? Using Spanish and Perfectionnement espagnol are intermidiate/advanced courses, so they are not suited to the

The "de poche" books are just pocket phrasebooks, not actual Assimil courses:
Your best bet is probably L'Espagnol, which is the the full course using a French base. I've heard that the English base is a bit older and has a number of translation errors. There is not yet an English base version of L'Espagnol. It is supposed to come out in 2013. The most recent English based course is Spanish with Ease and it is wonderful. So, for a French base you want L'Espagnol or the French based version of with Ease; and for an English base you would want Spanish with Ease.

I am not the fan of the Spanish with Ease, but I am still working through it, teeth

I noticed some strange translations on French with Ease but overall, it's still an excellent product. Is Spanish with Ease really that bad? 1 person has voted this message useful | |||
