Never said I considered it good style. I think I mostly use the expression when trying to sound cute - or when indicating what you just said was ridiculous and I won't treat it seriously because I want to give you a chance to correct yourself without having to lose face so would you please think about what you just said because it was that stupid.
So hearing it used, or even worse, reading it, sounds to me like somebody is suggesting I hold some very unreflected beliefs about the current topic, and that makes me feel defensive and wanting to prove that person they're a dimwit. Or worse, in marketing.
