So, aside from Georgian and Russian, the other language I will be working on this year
is Icelandic. I technically started learning a couple years ago, but I really just
dabbled. I know a few basic words and phrases: takk, sæll, ég heiti..., etc. I used to
know a little more but I´ve forgotten some things. I have Hippocrene´s Icelandic
course, TY Icelandic, and Colloquial Icelandic. I also listen to some Icelandic music.
I want to learn this language because lately I have been really fascinated by Iceland.
It looks so beautiful and my next goal after going to Russia will be to go to Iceland.
I also think the language sounds lovely and I would love to be able to use it. Right
now I am reading Njal´s Saga in English, and someday I would like to be able to read it
in Icelandic. I have had a look at it already, but obviously I cannot understand much
at this point.
Anyway, I am planning to join a Scandinavian team or something like that for TAC, in
addition to being on a Russian team. I wouldn´t say I have a particular goal in mind,
so I guess I will just see what happens...I just want to be exposed to the language
because I enjoy it. Ultimately my goal will be to be able to converse comfortably, but
I will not be able to go to Iceland for a long time, so there´s no rush really. Anyway,
I hope to meet other people who are learning Icelandic, and hopefully team up with them
for the TAC!

Icelandic is awesome. I hope to return to mine in 2014. But it will only be in the second
half.

I did the first three or four lessons of the Colloquial book, and learned the greetings
and such when I went to Iceland two years ago (I have been there). I also took a few
Icelandic classes on Italki with an Icelandic guy who spoke fluent Dutch.

Gangi þér vel, zecchino!
Great to see someone interested in Icelandic! I have abandoned mine some time ago, but I still have a soft spot for this language in my heart. It's difficult but fascinating.
Also, do I understand correctly that you want to join the Russian team again? You'd be very welcome!

Yes, of course. Russian is my number one priority this year. :)

Hey, I don't know if anyone follows this log. But I just want to say I'm still here and I haven't given up on
Icelandic. I just haven't been learning languages lately, but I'm getting back into it!

That's great :)
Good luck with your overly fascinating array of languages!
