I also didn’t know that he can speak Korean. He had a movie with a Korean female star last year( I have forgotten the name in English though) yet he didn’t speak in Korean in the movie. Compared to Japanese, Korean is a new popular language in the Chinese community. Does anyone know how long has he studied Korean?

Just a thought but maybe the directors or producers of those movies did not want Jackie Chan's character to be speaking Korean (maybe they wanted a token Chinese character). Since I don't know which movies you're refering to, I can't really say. :)

I don't think he should be speaking English most of the time either. :o

Wow, I never knew that he can speak Japanese or Korean. If that's so, howcome he never spoke Korean in the movie accidental spy ? Part of it took place in Korea and he was communicating in English the entire time. I could be wrong but this may be a recent acheivement.

it's not fluent by any means (much like his english), he adds quite a bit of mandarin when he speaks but he can communicate
(appearance on a Korean variety show)

he filmed a couple of movies in Korea as a young man which is where he learned the language

@ lady skywalker: you are essentially correct, the characters aren't supposed to be able to speak korean
