Hiya,

Has anyone got any beginner Spanish resources please?

Thanks

Also, my current knowledge is just knowing how to introduce my self and how to say 'apple'.

Thanks!

Gracias! I ordered Assimil a couple of days ago on a whim because I got it at a reasonable price. Is Destinos a TV
programme?

Yes. It takes you through the Spanish speaking world so you also get exposed to different accents early on.

Thankyou, I'll check it out. Would you recommend using Assimil whilst listening to simple podcasts and tv shows to
acquire vocabulary? I am unsure how to acquire a language core to build on. I only know French to very basic level
and, this has been taught to me since I was 11 in school on and off. Also, how long does it take to complete the
Spanish with ease book assuming you do one lesson per day? Is destinos a good supplement.

I've tried to search the forum for threads, but it is tedious and I can find it hard to navigate sometimes.

It would be better to use it with simple podcasts because watching tv at a beginner stage isn't too helpful in my opinion.

Probably around 6 months if you follow the Assimil instructions to the dot. I'd say that Destinos is good to go with it. If you've ever used French in Action, it's basically Destinos' equivalent.

Thanks, so the best bet would be to use Assimil and supplement with simple podcasts? I think I'm going to Spain
next year after my exams so would like a fairly decent conversational level of Spanish (in six months).

Destinos helped me go from just knowing the grammar to understanding TV shows and movies. I highly recommend
it. And don't forget to turn on the Spanish subtitles. Watching the episodes with Spanish subtitles helps a lot. This is
where it lives: Destinos
