Okay, so I go the the Google Play store and search for "Learning Italian"
It pops up the search results, but... there is no way to sort the results like you can with amazon.com I want to know how many downloads, what are the average reviews. Most are only a few dollars, so it isn't about money. I want to have flash cards with pictures and audio, verb conjugations, topics, etc 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Whether you regard it as a language-learning app or not I'm not sure, but
Aglona Reader is freeware, and although I've only used it on a laptop/PC, there is a version for Android, apparently. I don't know how well it works. I notice you are studying German. There are a few English-German parallel books posted on that website. Hopefully more will eventually follow. You can actually use AR to make your own parallel texts (probably best done on a PC/laptop), assuming you have a translation and a corresponding original TL text. Doing that is quite a good learning exercise in itself, I've found. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

I can't speak on Italian ONLY apps but I can tell you that there are two apps that have Italian language on them that I like are free.
One is Courses 1,2,3 which teaches English, German, Spanish, Italian, and French supposedly up to B1 level I think. They utilize videos in the target language with subtitles, which are also in the target language and then they test you over the material. You'll need a reliable connection since the videos are not downloaded locally. The other one, that I'm sure you've heard of Duolingo which can be fun but also a little boring since they use a lot of repetition to reinforce what you know. The UI is very nice just like the website and I haven't personally encountered any bugs. Again, you'll need a reliable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection. Oh as for flashcards I recomment using AnkiDroid. It's a free app as well and after you make an account you can download decks uploaded by other users or create your own. It does spaced repetition to help you learn. I like that one too, as it's helped tremendously with my German. If you get any Italian audio, listen to it with AB Repeat Player. It has a lot of functions designed for the language learner, including quick buttons to play back the last 2, 5, or 7 seconds of audio, A-B loop repeat (complete with the ability to add a few seconds of silence between repeats), bookmarks, playlist functions, audio clipping/trimming, etc.

Android apps I currently use, in order of most used:
If you don't have a kindle, the kindle app would be worth adding. These are all free. I've also used the Babbel app, which is also free. Most instructional apps look like rubbish to me, whether paid or unpaid. But the Duolingo and Babbel apps at least cover a lot of material. I prefer "utility" apps (Anki, Google Translate, etc) over the instructional ones. There are a number of good threads about Android already, so remember it is better to search first before asking a question. I honestly don't know honey. I dont use Apple Products so I wouldn't know what they have on thier app store. I don't see why not though, but be careful. I do know that some free apps on Android cost money on Apple. 1 person has voted this message useful |
