Could you please recommend me some good materials that would help me to move from C1 to C2. I know that at this level it's much more about reading books and watching movies, but I still would like to have some structured materials to build a larger vocabulary, reinforce grammar patterns, learn cultural and stylistic subtleties etc.

I have either used or already own the following advanced materials:

Hugo - Advanced Spanish
Living Language - Spanish Beyond the Basics
Living Language Advanced Spanish
Colloquial Spanish 2
Colloquial Latin American Spanish 2
Macmillan - Mastering Spanish 2
Assimil Using Spanish
Platiquemos 1-8
Berlitz Advanced Spanish
Suena 4

What else would you recommend? I have heard about the French-based Harrap’s Espagnol - Méthode Perfectionnement, although I am not sure if I could use it with my very rusty French.

Thanks a lot.

Have you thaught about some DELE books?
Even if you don't want to take the test, they are structured books at this level and you could learn something besides the test rules.

I haven't tried it for Spanish and couldn't recommend any book, but I've done some very usefull excercises out of English test preperation books.
I have never taken a test, but I still learned something from this excercises.

Hello,
I have Assimil Advanced Spanish (Perfectionnement Espagnol) book and CD set. It is new
and unused - an unwanted gift.

If you're interested, all I ask is post and packaging cost.

Thanks, but I already have its English version. Using Spanish is the same as Perfectionnement Espagnol.

Gramatica del Uso does have a C level, so I guess it does cover the nuances for C level learners. There are several books preparing for the dele exam ad some of the material may be more than relevant even if you don't plan to take the exam. I have seen this in a bookshop: http://marcoele.com/el-ventilador-curso-de-espanol-de-nivel- superior/ which seems to be aimed at C1 learners. Apart from that, you should now be ready for anything in Spanish, including hard movies and books.

Cavesa's suggestion of El Ventilador is very good IMO. I have used it (well, some of it, especially the
grammar section) and it's great. Mine didn't have an answer key but you can get that online.

Oh wow! Now I am excited! Can you tell us more about it? What kind of things does it cover?

P.S
@Randomreview I think I am getting to know this forum and its users far too well- I just knew you would be posting in this thread when I saw it earlier in the day!

I also try for C2 in Spanish, the books I used for C1 in the past was a método
superiori/dp/8879409891/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1388354061&sr =8-
2&keywords=espanol+lengua+viva+4">Español Lengua Viva 4 C1
and for C2 the método
ie=UTF8&qid=1388354147&sr=8-1&keywords=nuevo+prisma+c2">Nuev o Prisma C2 con CD,
and
a sort of practise book combined with advice to help in all aspects of the language,
CD/dp/8477113521/ref=sr_1_5?
ie=UTF8&qid=1388354194&sr=8-5&keywords=curso+de+perfeccionam iento">Dominio: Curso de
Perfeccionamiento Nivel C
, which is for C1 and C2 combined.

Somehow the links messed up. The books anyway were:

Español Lengua Viva 4 C1: Libro del Alumno con CD
Nuevo Prisma C2: Libro del Alumno con CD
Dominio: Curso de Perfeccionamiento Nivel C con CD

I especially enjoy the latter, because it shows a short "mini-lesson" in a box,
followed by an exercise, in speaking, writing, listening, and reading, so you can apply
what is in teh box immediately in the following exercise instead of waiting for a list
of exercises.
