Hello!
I'm in college right now (French and music major). Some of my friends and I have some free time and we are very interested in learning Esperanto. I am very experienced in learning languages as I have taken many years of French in school and have started taking German. I have also tried to learn many languages by myself so I know the structure of learning a language. My friends have asked me to "teach" them Esperanto. I have worked through many lessons on lernu.net and feel that I have a solid beginner's background. So, basically I'll be learning a lesson on my own and then meet later with my friends to teach it to them. My main purpose of writing this post is to see if there are any free materials online that provide a very defined structure so that I have something to teach my friends with. Do you know of anything? In addition to the lernu.net resources, I would recommend these:
Universala Metodo by Doktoro Benson is a book that is begins with Esperanto straight away with little or no English. It begins with pictures and simple sentences. Also there is a series of videos made from the book if you prefer to have the audio read aloud. You can find it here. Also, for an audio based course that is a bit more advanced you can find Gerda Malaperis in various places online. I believe that it is free also. (EDIT: I should clarify that this is not an Audio Based Course to learn Esperanto. It is a story written in Esperanto for beginners and you can find the audio if you wish to hear it.
