I cant be the only one who was expecting something completely different given the title.
Cheeky, Solfrid.

I am afraid I have absolutely no clue as to what you are thinking of :-)

The literary figures Synnøve Solbakken and Solveig from Peer Gynt, who set the standard for an innocent, naive, virtuous blond Norwegian, are the image most of my friends associate me with. Of course, naive is just another word for stupid, so there may be something of that too :-)

I considered writing Russian instead of the xxx, - but then the mods would have put it under the "specific languages section", and I wanted a broader range of answers.Otherwise I try not to be too predictable, so if the post contained something unexpected, that is a bonus :-)

Well, I also found myself a native Russian speaker a while ago. My new flatmate is from Kyrgyzstan and is fluent in Russian. Mostly, we speak English with each other, but I get to practise my Russian from time to time. In fact, it's a win-win situation, because she can practise her German on me.

Congrats on getting your own account "revived" Josquin!

I haven't met many German speakers here in Bath, and those I've met seems to be a bit
more into the English language than I am: in fact, one of them corrected me when I said
"Bayern" instead of "Bavaria". I'm considering taking at least a semester in Germany
when doing my Master's in Norway though, so it doesn't bother me much.

I met a few Japanese speakers in Berlin the last time I was there, but they preferred
German - which I was totally fine with - and my Japanese was so out of practice that I
forgot even the most basic words, like 安い.
