On my version of word it only has british, american and australian, no canadian.
the only way for me to not loose marks is a custom dictionary.

Yours must be a pretty old version of Word. Then set it to British - it would upset you less. They might prompt you on -ize endings, but -ise ending is also acceptable in Canada - no danger of losing marks!

If Word is set to "U.K." it doesn't matter which ending you use as they're both accepted.
