WWII US foreign language phrasebooks

A selection of US military phrasebooks for various languages, issued during the Second World War. I took this item from an interesting Russian-language blog dealing with foreign languages, wartime propaganda and so on (esp. the Eastern Front in WWII, although earlier and later conflicts are also mentioned).

The blog contains many examples of books, booklets and so on designed to give soldiers etc. the basics of various foreign languages. The US examples stand out because they seem rather expensively produced, with stout covers and binding.

And a page from a Soviet phrasebook for use in Afghanistan during the 1980s. It is said to be afganskiy yazyk, which usually means Pashto, but the phrases look more like Dari Persian to me.
