I've certainly read quite a few articles about readability and (guided) language acquisition. I've mentioned trying to measure readability, but it's only a first step in what I'm interested in doing.
I haven't had much time to work on it. Once I get around to it, I'll see if my approach is any valid and can bring results. It has helped me with Norwegian already, but who knows how it may adapt to other languages.

Ah sorry I missed the point a bit. I suppose you're trying to tailor your
recommendations to specific people.
It would be really cool to tie an SRS learning engine in with a system that provided
very specific reading material that would cover all your scheduled words for the day,
and provide a much nicer experience to remind you of the words compared to the
flashcard method. You'd need a very large collection of relatively short content for
this to work well, or maybe just extracting short snippets from larger texts like
novels would work.
I wonder if you're thinking along similar lines? Anyway, would love to see what you
come up with.
PS: sorry I don't have an Anki deck to share.

Indeed, I'm not just trying to give a readability score to a text, but rather to have the readability dependent on the user. And from that, I hope to produce reading recommendations, possibly depending on targets: maintaining existing knowledge, learn a list of vocabulary, etc.
I'll try to have the minimum working by the end of the month in order to make that more publicly available. Good luck to your project too, I'll keep an eye on it.
