I am having trouble with one of my decks. I just upgraded to Anki 2 a few weeks ago and (being woefully
ignorant when it comes to software etc.) I managed to change the card type in one of my Polish decks. Now I
can't do any of the flashcards in that deck unless I can figure out how to change it back. So, is it possible for
me to change the card type of cards that I have already created? I want to return all my cards to the "basic"
type. I would just delete the cards and make new versions in the "basic" card type, but I'm dealing with
around 1,000 cards so that's not a very attractive option.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

I'm not sure what your goal is, but how would you change the type of a card?

If a basic card is "front"/"back", and you've created a new "polish" card which contains "english word"/"polish word"/"example sentence", Anki cannot guess what you mean by "Now I want this card to map to front/back".

Well, that's my guess at least.

It is bit hidden.

1st screen - "Browse"

select all cards and either "Edit -> Change note type" or Ctrl+Shift+M

Good luck!

@Majka, thank you - what you said worked perfectly. Everything is back to normal now!

@vermillon, thank you for your response. I had four fields on my new card type, but I only used two of them
(front and back), so that's probably why I could change the cards back to the "basic" type.

How do you increase font size in Anki?

Is it possible to have 2 fields on front and 2 on back? Or do I have to use the notes feature for that?

You need to use the note feature.
Me personally, I would define a completely new note type with the two fields on front and on back, test it and then change the note type for all cards.

Meanwhile, how do I move or copy my cards into a sub-deck? I've got an Arabic deck and I want to separate it into Arabic::Lesson 1 and Arabic::Phrases...

Select the cards you want to move in the card browser and click "change deck".

Question:
Is it possible to have a different layouts on the mobile version? (For instance, to not
use the snapshot, audio etc.)
