Switching the interfaces can help, and if it's something you use all the time, it can be a lot more comprehensible than it first appears. I switched my Facebook into German long before I had a respectable level, but because I use Facebook all the time, it was understandable. You might understand more than you think! That's great that you're able to listen to the radio for 5-6 hours a day! If you listen regularly, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how quickly you can progress.
