Hello all!

A new colleague at my language-learning and translation firm has the task of writing a grammar of the German
language in Russian, for Russian-speaking students who want to learn German. However, she's having trouble
finding good-quality books (grammars and similar).

Is there anyone here who's studied German using Russian-language materials? I would very much appreciate any
recommendations of specific books or authors.

(I guess it would have made more sense to write this post in the Russian forum, but unfortunately that's a skill I don't
yet have.)

Thanks very much to anyone who can give me some tips on good materials and authors.

There is an informal book by Илья Франк - "Немецкая грамматика с человеческим лицом". And I honestly do not know anything more serious yet.

If your colleague is writing a textbook in Russian, teaching German to Russians, he better be able to speak/write in Russian to a very good degree.
If that's indeed the case, s/he can browse Russian online bookstores for German textbooks.
Or better yet find some Russian university courses teaching German that list the textbooks their students use.
I'm sure you'll be able to find a plethora of decent resources that way.

Via Diva, thanks for the recommendation! Frank's method looks a bit too casual for what we need (actually it looks
like the kind of thing I would prefer to use myself, but for work unfortunately we have to stick to traditional-style
grammars of a language).

s0fist, yes, she's from Ukraine and Russian is her native tongue. She's done a lot of research so far and has found
many resources, but most of them are unfortunately very low quality. That's why I was hoping for a specific
recommendation from someone who might have used such materials themselves in the past.

Well if even university courses are using terrible resources, you might be out of luck.
You might want to look for some kind of textbook review site or forum where students or academics rate or discuss textbooks, much like this one, except in Russian.

I don't really know the best places where Russian polyglots congregate, but:
Maybe check this forum here www.efl.ru/forum/german/
And maybe check this huge Russian torrent site's foreign language instruction section: rutracker.org
(You don't have to download content, if you don't want to, but you might glean at least the names of the textbooks that are being shared/popular amongst learners.)

And even though I'll probably stick to the Eng-Ger resources, if you do find a good or maybe even a great Russian-German resource, please do take the trouble to post it here.
