I've been using busuu.com for a few days now, and so far I'm really enjoying it. I know that language programs and
digital material often gets a bad rap on these forums, but I must say that this is better than Rosetta Stone, which I've tried and was frustrated with. I should note that I'm not affiliated with the website, and I don't plan on signing up for the premium accont. The free stuff is quite good, although of course it's ultimately limited to a low intermediate level. Where busuu.com shines is the writing sections with usually very quick corrections by other language learners, and the integrated chat. I signed up and forgot about it. They keep sending me emails about how my language garden is shriveling up and dying. I think I tried out their German course just for fun -- but really my main focus is on Finnish these days, so I haven't continued.

Yeah, they only offer material in a few languages, but if one of them happens to be one you're interested in, it's a
good introduction. However, the site seems to be acting up right now. It doesn't seem to be recording my completion of their exercises. Hopefully this gets resolved soon. I was hoping try out Spanish and German with it before plunging into full blown study. 1 person has voted this message useful |
