Is there a difference between these two endings? I haven't really noticed them until
today due to their similarities in pronunciation(가 and 까)...
They both seem to be expressing the fact that the speaker is wondering about the
question.

One thing I know for sure is with ㄹ까 it is more to do with politely posing a question like asking for permission. It performs a function similar to "would I, shall I, I wonder if I'd...?" The mood is associated with intention and conjecture. The other one ㄴ가 has to do with a sort of self-musing, a question you ask while mumbling to yourself. It also seems to work with asking a simple yes/no type of question. Think of it as a question without none of that emotional baggage. They each serve different role. This is so much I know about these two. Maybe others could have further input.
까 and 가 don't sound alike at all. Practise your pronounication. The difference is actually a lot more distinct than that between 가 and 카

Ok, thanks for the help! It clarifies the confusion quite a bit.
As for the similarity between the sounds, what I really meant was that they sounded close
enough for me to have ignored them in speech before, not that they sound almost the same,
sorry for the misconception.
