Hey all,
I am planning to start learning the Hungarian language, but as I'm barely home I wanted to buy a good book which I could take with me outside.
What are some good books for learning Hungarian?
How about the Complete Hungarian: A Teach Yourself Guide? is it good?
Is there any other series for learning languages you could recommend me to buy?
Thank you!

Szervusz!
any of these introductory books will give you a good start in the language. For
the grammar there's a great book by Carol Rounds that covers all the stuff not shown by
the other books. "Hungarian, An Essential Grammar" is the exact title.
Jo tanulast kivanok!

Possibly the best store in the world for any language materials is Grant & Cutler in London. They have an extensive section

If your German is good enough, I can recommend "Szituációk" by Ágnes Silló which comes with a text book, an exercise book and a CD. It's aimed at language courses, so it's helpful to get the teachers' manual, too. It helped me quite a bit, especially to get a good colloquial vocabulary which the FSI course failed to deliver ;)
Also, again somehow depending on your German, there's a helpful Austrian journal for Hungarian learners appearing twice a year, Magyarul tanulók. It contains lots of Hungarian text and gives the more unusual vocabulary in German and English - to see a sample page, click on "Magazin" and then on "Musterseiten". A subscription will cost you € 19,70 / 24 (depending on whether Israel is considered to be "Übersee") and is imho well worth the money.
