I've been studying Russian for about a month. I'm studying at college, however, I can't read Golosa for more
than 5 minutes without getting either bored or confused. That being said, I'm using Assimil Russian Without
Toil (1951?), Berlitz Russian Self Teacher (still in the mail), and The New Penguin Russian Course as
supplemental material. To get right to it, the old Assimil book, although so far fantastic, has dreadful audio
recordings. Perhaps it's was just the transfer from the record but all the words are muffled together and it's
hard to understand what they're even saying. For example, "скоро" sounds something like "shzeetkora" and
"желаю" is completely incomprehensible. It's like this throughout the entire book.

My question is, would anyone (preferably a native Russian speaker) be willing to re-record the dialogues in
exchange for a book of similar length to be re-recorded or simply recorded for the first time in English? I know
someone has done the for 20 lessons or something like that but I'm looking to complete the book as the book
seems like it would take me pretty advanced into the Russian language near the end of the book. I have the
PDF I can send to anyone. I would very much appreciate it! Thanks!

That would be great, but my diction is awful, hence my speech is for die-hard learners.
And before you'll find someone, compare your audio with. for example, Google Translate (one word per "play" button) or with words in Wiktionary (some of them has been uploaded in audio, just look for it in ru.wiktionary.org). Maybe this has nothing to do with quality.
Or just use it to check some words before you'll get new recordings :)

From the topic, I thought this was going to be...
Your beautiful daughter for my English lessons...

IMHO, Google Translate is not reliable at all.

I wasn't sure what this would be about, but i'd also LOVE to have updated recordings to the old Russian course. While i love the course and the speakers, it often is hard to make words out. Maybe they changed some words around through the different editions, but there were a few times where words were mixed up, ie. the audio didn't match the text, like (if i remember correctly) saying "быстро" instead of "скоро" (or maybe the other way around).

I would love to have a nice crisp audio to go with the course.

Crush, I forgot to mention that as well. Sometimes they say a COMPLETELY different word! Anyway, I'm really
hoping someone is willing to do this as the course really is very good and thorough. And I can't say I trust Google
translate...

How much would a professional recording go for? I tried to look it up online but couldn't find any company that actually recorded audiobooks (in English, i'd have no idea how to find a similar company to record a book in Russian).

I can make some recordings if you send me the book.
