I just downloaded MakeBiLingua to find that everything is in Russian. I know nothing about Russian language. I guess I might as well go back to my good old MS word editing.

Thanks. With Google translation, I have figured out most of it. Still, there are two items I can not make out even with google translation. If anyone could help proofreading them, I'd really appreciate it.
(1)сохранить для Суперчиталки лево и право: Save for Superchitalki left and right (Google's translation) (2) сохранить для Суперчиталки право и лево Save for Superchitalki right and left (google's translation) I have already edited some pages with it. yes, the translation is correct. google translate works wonders!
yet, if you don't wince at the though of using pirate software, i have a tip for you - get the tool called ABBY Aligner and it will do the job for you. for instance, aligning the first book of Harry Potter takes only a few minutes. it supports 10 languages, thus 90 translation directions. best of luck! p.s. if you use MakeBiLingua still, please do save the results of your work at regular intervals. if my memory doesn't fail me, the program crashed once and i lost my stuff that took me half a day to produce. These programs sound interesting, but before downloading I have a question: will they work with Chinese and Hindi texts? Chinese uses 。 instead of a dot, and Hindi uses । instead. Would the program recognize these as a sentence ending?
And what about Arabic or other languages that go right-to-left? Anyone has tried using the program with these? Would love to know, otherwise doing it by hand is not much fun. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

I used MakeBilingual and Hunalign. Neither of them can split Chinese sentences properly. With MakeBilingual, manual work is less tiring than MS Word, but much more than Hunalign. So I use MS Word replacement to split Chinese sentences beforehand. Let Hunalign do the splitting of other languages and the pairing. The output looks nice after I added dictionaries. For example, I have just aligned one chapter of an English non-fictional book. The result is 494(Chinese sentences):483(English), automatic pairing is 476, and the final is 474 sentences after ironing. I tried to install LeoBilingua, but did not make it. It requires Net Framework 1.1. which seems a bit too low. My computer was already insalled Net Framework 4.0. But the installation was refused. I was wondering how those who have installed did it. Is there something wrong with Win7,64bits? And also, I am curious how the former member on this forum who can align one novel within 2-3 hours manages it only with MS Word. I can never be that quick.
