Where do I begin to start learning this language? There is barely any
material out there. They do have an intensive summer program for
Macedonian 101 and 102 which equals a whole year of college study in a
duration of 9 months. It is at Arizona State University. Anyone can attend,
and it only cost $300 because they want to promote rare languages. Sound
good? Any advice?

In my experience, aggressive summer programs are quite good for starting a
language, Mistael! You get a lot of concentrated instruction over a short
period of time.
After that, it seems that a trip to Macedonia might be the best
prescription. :)

Well I am going to Switzerland and then Macedonia for two weeks in
December with my family. They are Albanian who speak Macedonian and
German. I am going to have a huge mix of languages going on. I guess I
have to make the best out of my trip by trying to talk to a lot of Mac.
residents. I am going to study hard before I go...

I heard once that Bulgarian was the easiest of the Slavic languages (grammatically), and that Macedonian was very closely related to Bulgarian. They are the only Slavonic languages that use articles, and they do not use noun cases. |

Bulgarian grammar isn't easy at all. But if you learn Bulgarian, you'll understand Macedonian and Serbian.
P.S. Am I the only one Bulgarian member?
