Okey so I guess there are fairly many verbs that do this like mettre,comprendre etc?

Oh there are only acquis, inclus, mis, pris and its composites, where you will hear an additional s (dissous has the form dissoute). And some with a t like craint, couvert, dit or atteint.

Agreed. Now that you know the rule, start listening for native speakers and see how often they fail to obey the
rule.

Double agree.

People ignore this in their speech all the time, but respecting it is still a mark of
the educated speaker. In writing, it is non-negotiable; if you mess it up, you will be
judged by educated readers.

My advice to you is to try your best to always get it right in your speech because it's
best to form good habits early on. But remember it isn't dramatic if you mess up. It
happens to everyone (even native
speakers).
