Years ago I bought a Russian chess clock on eBay. Here is a pic of the manual. What language is written at the top?

It's Armenian. Sorry, though, that although I recognize the alphabet, I don't know more than a few words in the language itself.

It's just a guess, but if it was manufactured in Soviet Armenia, the Armenian name of the factory might have been included. Armenians are big chess players, and so it wouldn't be surprising to see something like this made in Armenia...

It says "šaxmati elektronayin žamačap’". The "elektron" part is pretty obvious, "šaxmati" is almost identical to the Russian word for chess, and from my brief exposure to Armenian through the short Pimsleur course I recall "žama" having something to do with time, so I believe the meaning of the Armenian text is the same as that of the Russian at the bottom, "electronic chess timer".
