Does anyone have any websites where to get cheap notebooks with the boxes specifically for writing kana and kanji? I've been looking around for ages and there seems to be no realiable cheap place online

I know they have some for sale at jbox.com (in the study items section) - I don't know if the notebooks are any good but I've ordered some other stuff from this site without any problems.
For now I've been using http://www.joyo96.org/PM.html to create a page of boxes to print out, which works for me but I understand if you'd want a proper notebook instead.

I just picked up a two dollar notebook of graph paper from Wal-Mart. It's not the most elegant solution, but it works and it's got about 100 or so 4x4 squares per page.
Example

Yes, ordered a bento box some time last year!
Having said that, the graph paper idea sounds economical and useful, might give that a go myself.

You can use this site to generate graph paper of any kind, including traditional paper for writing Japanese, and simply print it out with your printer.
