Sounds like you've made excellent progress. Congrats on getting through "Teach Yourself - Complete Spanish" - it's nice to finish something off! The drills book sounds great. You'll have to let us know how it works for you. Good luck with your prep for the B2 level certification!

Thank you very much for your comment vanillabean! I can't actually wait to start with the
new book, it looks great! What I'm going to do during the next 30 days is trying to
solidify - and possibly slightly increase - my present knowledge of the language. I don't
want to move on to an advanced level without having a perfect command of the basic and
intermediate structures and vocabulary first.
Anyway, I'll soon show you all the results of these three months of study in a video -
that's going to be really embarrassing cause I still suck though.

Hi there,
There must be something wrong with my study plan, I need to change it a little.
I think I'll start straight with the DELE B2 preparation course instead of spending one
month on that grammar book I've already told you about. In fact, it seems not to be
working for me, and I maybe prefer keeping this grammar just as a reference book while I
go through the other course. Let's see if it works this way... eheheh
By the way, I think I'll fail my personal goal of 100hrs/month of study. With the finals
approaching time seems never enough... Hopefully I'll reach that amount of time next
month when everything will be done at university.

Well, my opinion doesn't really count for much since I am not fluent enough to pick up any mistakes. It sounds
great to me - haha. But really, it is inspiring to see how much progress you have made in such a short amount of
time! Your hard work has really paid off. I can't wait until I can speak that well someday! :)

Hi Vanillabean, hello everyone :D
Sorry if I disappeared, but over the past week I got my degree at university and I
couldn’t make it to post here on the forum! I didn’t give up studying Spanish (hell
no!), but, unfortunately, I had to slow down a bit :P
Anyway, here I am! I’ve got a few news, most of them pretty discouraging actually:
- Yesterday I sat an interview in Spanish because of a (free) language course of 100
hours I’d like to go through this summer, but even though I’ve scored pretty high on
the written exam, my spoken abilities came out to be way lower than the intermediate
level. For this reason, I think I’ll eventually be assigned to the high-beginner or
low-intermediate class… damn;
- All the material I’ve been using so far isn’t working. Well, the material itself
seems me pretty good actually, but I honestly believe I cannot make the best out of it.
I don’t know why, but I fall asleep everytime I open those dam books. I need to change
strategy I guess;
- I think I’ve realized what’s the biggest problem of my Spanish: I rely too much on my
– actually pretty extensive – passive vocabulary and I don’t work enough on the active
one. I think I’ve a fairly decent pronunciation and grammar too isn’t so bad, but truth
is that I’m a bit lazy when it comes to learn new words.
So, what am I going to do in order to fix this situation?
- I’m going to post something in Spanish everyday on Lang-8 (I’ll put a direct link to
my page here on the forum);
- I’m going to speak as much as I can with native speakers in order to gain a decent
fluency and to convert into active my passive vocabulary;
- I’m going to read and listen to my HP book – which I left incomplete 2 months ago –
every dam day;
- I’ll keep listening and watching tons of Spanish movies and read articles from the
net;
- Even though I’m a bit skeptical, I’m going to try work on the speaking and writing
sections of the DELE B2 preparation course I’ve got.
The countdown starts tomorrow: 34 days to the go (19th April – Oral exam). I’m
determined to get this certification, no matter what.
And you know what? If I stick to this plan and I pass the exam I'm going to reward
myself with a trip to Spain. Otherwise... :P
