日本語で書くかどうかよく考えましたが、た いてい英語で書いた方がいいと思います。日 本語で書きたくないわけではないですが、こ の掲 示板の普通な言葉は英語だし、日本人と上級 の日本語の学生はあまり多くないし、誰も間 違ったところを直さないはずです。私にとっ て は書き方の練習が必要ですが、たぶんLang-8で 練習した方がいいと思います。
Edit: And I have no idea why spaces have appeared randomly in my Japanese text either, but I can't seem to get rid of them!
Edit: at least I spotted some of my own mistakes...

Well this week has not been an exceptional one for studying. The day job has been nothing short of crazy, on top of which I managed to develop a trivial illness for half of the last week. Unfortunately not bad enough to give me an excuse note to avoid the craziness at work, but certainly bad enough that I wasn't really in much of a mood to study by the time I got home.
I have stopped casually ignoring the Super Challenge, have thrown away any last bit of shame I might have once felt, and am now tweeting about every ridiculous TV show I watch (which in fact has been pretty much the only Japanese I've done this week). I'd better get onto some more serious reading material sooner rather than later to redress the balance. I did actually finish the first volume of Paradise Kiss. Well, it's not exactly serious, but the fact that there is no furigana makes me feel pleased with myself nevertheless.

Reading japanese without furigana sounds pretty good to me. Doesn't sound likensuch a bad week at
all.

Well I finished the bulk of the furigana-less volume the week before this one, I can just make my claim now that it's all done! Better finish off the other four volumes now...

I must agree. I can often understand the meanings, but without furigana, I wouldn't know how to pronounce a lot of the words. Unfortunately, I tend to rely too much on it, even when I could probably figure out the reading if I just thought about it a little. Bad, bad, lazy Owl.

I've gotten a kick out of reading the logs written in other languages
lately like schönewälder and emk for French. Cathrynn was posting in Japanese for a
time but that was about a year ago (?) Have you guys considered writing your logs
partially in Japanese/another language? It would take more time, but we'd get some
kanji practice. |

This is something I hope to do in the future when I feel I can start producing
Japanese. I love visiting blogs for ideas and inspiration, and I was so tempted to
start one with the Super Challenge, but the time I already put into updating my log
here is long enough, and better spent reading and listening to Japanese. That said, I
might start one in the future, but for now, I'm content with my current log, and
Japanese/Russian :)
Keep up the good work, g-bod! I love your posts :)

そうですね。私もそう思いますが、実は、あ まりlang-8を使っていないんです。だから、書 くのはあまり練習していないん
です。でも、毎週の週末日記で手で書くこと で練習したいと思っていますから、「ああ、 HTLALで日記に書いたものを出す
のがいいね、かも」と思っています。
That's probably full of mistakes. The last sentence confused me a bit so I just guessed. Anyway, what do you
think of posting things here instead of lang-8? I don't know why but it just seems friendlier here to me. And I'm
pretty sure we're allowed to correct people on their logs- it's the rest of the forum where it's seen as impolite.

I suppose it gets a little dull just writing about language techniques and which textbook you've been using. I like reading logs in English and Japanese, although I confess to knowing little of the latter. Does it say you write a Japanese diary by hand?
