I think you need a nice Icelandic native speaker :) Try interpals. Even if you don't learn, you'll be able to find a sympathetic person ;)

Congrats on your scholarship! It must be great indeed to spend time doing what you love and get paid for it as well. Hopefully you will also have some time for languages, like you say. And if your wanderlust takes you to Korean I'll be very interested in reading your thoughts about it.
And if I may make a small comment on your English, I've noticed that you tend to use the word "moreover" a lot. I'm not sure whether it's grammatically correct or not but it feels old-fashioned or something like that. I would instead say "also", "as well", "in addition to that" or something else similar.

Sorry, I don't have any interest in Icelandic right now and I rather use my languages for input than for output.
Thanks for your kind words, Evita. You're right about "moreover" being a rather formal word, but I tend to use quite formal language even in my native German. If you will, I enjoy being formal and using literary registers.

It's strange, but it's kinda sad to read that you're not interested in Icelandic anymore. You spend enormous amount of time with this language and so on...

Fluency was never my goal in Icelandic. My main goal is being able to understand a foreign language. Actually speaking it is not that important to me. So, I got out of Icelandic what I wanted and now I'm moving on.
By the way, I wouldn't call completing Collqouial Icelandic, watching Viltu læra íslensku?, and reading some sagas "an enormous amount of time".

You underestimate yourself :)
Well... If I learned like you, I would never reach even B1 in any of my languages :P I looooooooooooooooooove talking live (of course when my level is at least decent and less than 50% people switch to English). Your approach is kinda interesting from my perspective.

It's freakin' hot in Germany today, about 35° C. Besides doing my groceries, I didn't dare to go outside, but I couldn't work on my dissertation either, so I decided to do some easy studying. I wrote a little text in my beginner-level target languages, in which I introduce myself and tell a little bit about me and my family. Corrections are welcome!
