Hey everyone,
I've always learned that Russian possessive pronouns go before the noun being possessed, such as:
1) Это моя машина.
2) Это её кошка.
However, I have occasionally seen uses like:
1) Иуду и братьев его.
Is there a reason why the noun comes first in this case? I think most of the cases where I'm seen the pronoun last order are in religious texts or songs, so maybe it's an older way of doing things?

Нет. В песнях это делается для сохранения размера или для рифмы. В Библии это делается в
подражание греческому синтаксису.

Добавлю еще, что иногда так делают для придания речи оттенка архаичности, в стилистических целях (в подражание Библии, как Марк уже сказал :)). Кстати, так бывает и с предлогами, хотя еще реже.
