I've just been browsing the Kindle store on Amazon & it seems since I last visited they
have added lots of free e-books in Portuguese. Whether this is common knowledge I'm not
sure but I thought I'd post it for anyone that doesn't already know! Based on the most
though it seems a lot haven't been reviewed, so if they have been translated correctly
I'm not sure.

Just go to Amazon > search Portuguese on Kindle store > set price low to high.

I think even if you don't have a Kindle you an download them too & read them on the
Kindle app or similar.

There may be more available for other languages but I haven't really searched as of yet!

There are some at Spanish Amazon in Spanish but I haven't search more.

Is it actually possible to download from different Amazons, such as the US one?

Yes, but you have to go into your amazon account and change your country of residence, which is a huge hassle. Oddly, that's only for e-books and mp3's- not for anything else. Physical books, videos and cds that can be shipped by regular mail are ok and can be shipped to you at higher international rates.

Hmm that sucks, shame its not easier to do! Good to know I can shop on the US store
though.
