My favourite Dutch singer is Belgian and unfortunately sings mainly in English
An Pierlé - Mud Stories but this seems to be one of her in Dutch of Vlaams When I visited belgium about 15 years ago she was all over the telly. I was mesmerised, beautiful voice, weird lyrics. I was sure she was going to be a monster hit in the anglo-saxon world. Listening to the songs others have linked, it seems as if there is a certain type of voice that is actually quite common in Dutch music. I find it surprising, because the usual spoken Dutch accents sound a bit rough. It's also funny how appealing I find their names. Something irrational, but they just seem nicer than in other languages. Why is "Eefje Visser" so much nicer than "Fisher" ?
