It means: "Ouch, my arm!"

(if it were Swedish, it would have been "from my arm")

I hope you did not beat anyone? :-(

It IS an idiomatic expression because it has nothing to do with your physical arm. You use it when you have made an unexpected and unpleasant discovery, mostly about something you have forgotten to do and now have to do as fast as possible. Like driving your kids to school and forgetting one of them...

For me that expression will always be linked to the TV-series Matador, where the maid of one of the rich
families spent her day talking on the phone saying that expression all the time.

I've only heard it in Matador, but can't remember what the Swedish subtitles said in those scenes.
