I didn't see Axelle Red mentioned. She is without a doubt one of my favorite artists of all time. She is a native of Belgium, and most of her work is French, but I believe she has one English album and another in Spanish. I only have the French ones.
In my opinion, her greatest two albums are the first one she did in 1993, Sans Plus Attendre, and Rouge Ardent from 2013. Particularly Rouge Ardent is haunting, emotional, soulful, amazing. As with many of her albums, it was partially recorded in small studio's in Memphis. Incredible piano, organ, and guitar playing. Over the top beautiful music.
