Hi all!
My name's Ula. I've been reading this forum for quite a long time and finally today I decided to register as a formal member. Why? Because my passion for languages extended to the level where I want to share every little step with other people with similar interests.
Now a little bit about me...
I'm from Poland and since my early years I've been interested in English. I used to put all my dolls and cuddly toys on my bed and I pretended their English teacher (my only task was to switch the cassette player on and let them do listening exercises... I guess that's how I learnt basics myself :P). After many years of formal education which sometimes made me hate even my favourite subject - English, I decided to start English philology at the university. Although at first I failed, after a year I finally got into studies and since then I'm a totally crazy fan of the English language. I fell in love with this language even more than before and every little word heard in English makes me have flush on my cheeks (yes, that's why you can call me rosy-cheeked :D). However, English studies gave me much more than just love for one language. I started to appreciate processes which lead to understand foreign languages and I wanted to try knowledge acquired at the uni to learn French. It's been 2 years now since I took up French but I'm still at A2 level because it was difficult to concentrate on two languages at the same time... I forgot to mention that in my secondary school I used to learn Russian and in high school - German. Both for three years.... but the results... poor (A2/B1).
The final effect of my life language effort is satisfying for a normal user - I use English on advanced level (C1/C2), so I should be happy. But I am not! And that's why I'm here :) I think being here will help me with my French and when time passes... I have a little spark of hope to rekindle my interest in German and Russian....
So, let's begin this journey! Nice to meet you all! :)

Welcome to the forum. You will definitely see a lot of advice about reviving rusty languages, and ... you will see it in English!
