Well here I am... My first language log.
I wanted to learn a totally different language compared to English. As an anime-fan, the decision wasn't hard: I want to learn Japanese!!! My Goals:
Low priority: (hand-)writing My Resources:
I started a week ago... with Hiragana & Katakana. Basically just memorizing them with the help of Anki. Now I have started with a few pimsleur, textfugu & jpod101 lessons. But I can't really decide on a kanji learning-method yet. I have tried RTK, Kanjidamage & wanikani, but each of them has their disadvantages. RTK: No pronounciation help (but maybe I don't need it yet) Kanjidamage: needs lot of groundwork Wanikani: too slow for my taste But do I need to learn Kanji this early?? Or should I focus on vocab/grammar first? We will see... 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

No. You should focus on vocab/grammar first, though I am not the one to talk because I prioritize Kanji more than grammar due to my former crush sometimes replies my chat with Kanji. 1 person has voted this message useful |
