There is an FSI Italian Course not on any of the FSI sites. The course dates from 1965 and is available at ERIC here:FSI Italian Post Language Course 1965 The pdf has 633 pages. There's no audio available and the pdf should be ocr'ed and/or optimized in order to be more readable. According to the preface of the document:
FSI Italian Post Language Course wrote:
"This tentative course, which does not contain either explicit instructions to the user nor fully detailed explanations of grammar, provides lesson materials for a short course in Italian. It was produced by the staff of FSI Post Language programs in Italy and is designed for use in short, introductory courses for U.S. personnel in the field by instructors trained by and operating under the supervision of an FSI Regional Language Supervisor." |

Seems to be a good introductory course. It may be useful as a supplement, even if without audio and somewhat dated- talk of "mimeographs", "stencils", "onion paper" and something called a typewriter. Hey, what do you expect from 1965?
Could be a good supplement with another more modern course with audio. The OP has that covered, I'm sure, :)

To Iguanamon:
I'll "see" your FSI Italian Post Language course and "raise" you with an E.I.L Italian. And what's all this about mimeographs and stencils? I remember the period with great fondness; I can still recall the sweet perfume of ink and alcohol mixing together in the Gestetner machine!

To Eric and Iguanamon:
Honestly, I never would have imagined that the audio recordings for the E.I.L. Italian course, which was published in 1969, would still be available, especially since the publisher is not a commercial venture. Nonetheless, last evening, on a "long shot", I sent an Email to The Experiment in International Living, Language and Culture Department, and I received a reply this morning that, yes, the recordings are, indeed, still available in CD format. I should receive more information on the purchasing procedures in the next few days. Part of the credit for this discovery goes to Iguanamon as he steered me towards ERIC with his link to the FSI Italian Post Language course, to which I responded somewhat in jest. And part goes to Eric owing to his search for an FSI-Style Italian course, an interest that I share. Okay, the E.I.L. Italian course is not a full-blown FSI-Style course, but it does seem to have a particular focus on drills. More news, later.
Ciao!

I'd be really interested to know if the E.I.L. course goes beyond one volume, the first volume looks promising but is a bit too short..
